17th Annual F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Festival

9:00 am – 6:30 pm

Pulitzer Prize winner Robert Olen Butler will be presented the F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Award for Outstanding Achievement in American Literature at this one-day annual event. He will read from his work, lead a writing workshop and have a book signing. Special Guest Speaker R. Clifton Spargo, author of “Beautiful Fools, The Last Affair of Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald” will lead a talk. A feature of this year’s festival is the screenings of the 1949 and 1974 film versions of “The Great Gatsby” followed by a panel of film critics consisting of Michael Dirda, Jane Horwitz, Murray Horwitz and Bob Mondello comparing these film versions to the 2013 film adaptation. Writing workshops in fiction, mystery/thriller, poetry and memoir led by Alan Cheuse, James Grady, Merrill Leffler and E.
