The Montgomery County Council has released a list of five proposed sites under consideration as a new location for the Confederate Statue currently in Courthouse Square Historic District in Rockville.

Click here to read the list of proposed locations. Please note that this does not include the option of interpreting the statue in its current location, which Peerless Rockville advocated at the stakeholders meeting with County Council staff.

Click here to read the Montgomery County County Press Release (Select the month as August, the date of the document in August 27).

The County Council will be taking feedback on this issue until September 9th. If you have an opinion on the removal and potential relocation of the statue, including the view that it should be preserved and interpreted at its present location, now is the time to have your voice heard.
