What We Do

Historic Preservation
Join us in preserving Rockville's historic landmarks.  Linking the past with the present, looking toward the future, Peerless Rockville works to adapt yesterday's buildings - such as the
B & O Railroad Station, Red Brick Courthouse, Montrose School, and Wire Hardware store - for today's world.

Preservation Assistance
Peerless Rockville assists owners of historic properties in renovating, restoring or modifying properties through its files on contractors, suppliers, artisans, and products, and by providing information on tax incentives and other programs.  Peerless Rockville assists owners wishing to research a property's history, helps with various applications and provides information on owning property in an historic district and Maryland Historic Trust designation forms.  Our library contains many periodicals and publications of interest to historic property owners.  The library is open Monday through Friday 11 am to 1 pm or by appointment.  Call 301-762-0096.

Heritage Education Programs
Explore Rockville's past through
our collections of photographs, memorabilia, and artifacts. Our archives hold over 4,000 photographs of local people and places, as well as oral histories and research materials, to help people explore the colorful past of their own special neighborhoods. Also, tour historic sites in Rockville through our self-guided walking tours and on your own using our publications.
