“En Plein Air”
Ann Schaefer, a Fine Arts graduate of the George Washington University, primarily paints 
landscapes en plein air in oil, watercolor and acrylic. A life-long artist, she had a “day-job” career at NOAA, in the US Department of Commerce. She managed environmental programs and projects, a commitment that continues as she paints outdoors, enjoying the beauty of nature, hoping that her work will help others see how precious, and fragile, it is. A member of Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association (MAPAPA) She participates in plein air painting events, in locations including Snow Hill, Ellicott City, Easton, Annapolis, Frederick and Berlin, in Maryland, and in Norfolk/Virginia Beach, and Great Falls VA, where she has won many awards. Her work is on view at Gallery 322 in Frederick, MD.
