“RADOST”

Martina Sestakova is a textile designer and teaching artist based in Kensington, MD. She uses original paintings and photographs to design fabrics that contain stories of places and life experiences. For “Rockville Made”, Martina designed a collection of scarves that honor the city’s important sights: the stately Red Brick Courthouse and Glenview Mansion with its rich history. Each scarf has a name, comes with a short story explaining the inspiration and the creative process, and is made in the United States. Martina is the owner at RADOST (the word means ‘joy’ in Czech). Her artworks have been featured at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC.
