Heritage Education Programs: 2006
"Rockville's
Recent Past"
Rockville’s Recent Past
refers to the 20th century, a period that shaped our town
as we know it today. Rockville’s Recent Past is a survey initiated by Peerless
Rockville in 2003 to create a database of information on buildings and sites
constructed within Rockville’s geographic limits during the last hundred years.
Many of these structures have reached the awkward age of being too old to be
generally recognized as innovative and too young to be venerable. The survey
provides a reference for further study, planning, and understanding of a
critical period in local, regional, and state history.
